What must a receipt show?

Section 105 bis of the Thai Revenue Code requires a receipt to show at least these 6 items.

  1. The issuer's tax ID
  2. The issuer's name or trade name
  3. The receipt number, and book number if any
  4. The date the receipt is issued
  5. The amount received
  6. The type, name, quantity and price of goods, when selling goods

The shop must keep a copy or stub of each receipt for at least 5 years from the issue date, and numbers must run in order without repeats.

Frequently asked questions

Can a shop that is not VAT registered issue receipts here?

Yes. Leave the VAT registered box unticked and the receipt shows the total without VAT. Tax invoices can only be issued by VAT registered shops.

What is the difference between a receipt and a tax invoice?

A receipt confirms the shop has been paid. A tax invoice shows VAT so the buyer can claim it as input tax. VAT registered shops often issue one document titled receipt and tax invoice.

Is the information I enter stored?

No. It stays in your browser only and is not sent anywhere. Close the page and it is gone.

In GORINY, receipts come from real sales bills. Numbers run automatically, every copy is kept, stock is deducted and the books are posted, with nothing typed twice.
